US Isolationism: How to Step Back Without Stepping Away?

As US President-elect Joe Biden and his foreign policy team are preparing to take office, what lessons can be learned from the Trump administration? Will Trump's isolationism disappear in the face of the economic, social, and cultural divides the US is facing today? How will the US foreign commitment evolve? What is the future of US-EU relations?

To answer these questions, Soli Özel, Institut Montaigne's Senior Fellow, will welcome Charles A. Kupchan, Professor of international affairs at Georgetown University, Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, and author of Isolationism: A History of America's Efforts to Shield Itself from the World (Oxford University Press, 2020), to discuss the future of US foreign policy under the new administration.
