She was a research fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, whom she joined as a research analyst in January 2015, and was a 2018-19 Eranda Rothschild Foundation Junior Fellow. She holds an M.A. in economics from the University of California at San Diego. Currently Jung is employed at the World Bank.
