Luis Rubio

Chairman of Mexican think tank México Evalúa

Luis Rubio is Chairman of México Evalúa and former chairman of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations. He is a winner of the APRA book award (1985), the Dag Hammarskjöld prize (1993) and was also awarded the National Journalism Award for op-ed pieces. A prolific writer on political, economic and international subjects, he is a contributing editor of Reforma

Rubio’s analyses often appear in major newspapers, whether in Mexico, in the US or in Europe (New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, National Public Radio). He is also a frequent speaker at global conferences. He serves on the boards of two families of investment funds and Coca Cola FEMSA. He is the author and editor of 51 books, most recently of La disputa sobre el futuro (2021), Unmasked: López Obrador and the End or Make-Believe (2019). Before joining México Evalúa -CIDAC, in the 1970s he was Planning Director of Citibank in Mexico and served as an adviser to Mexico's Secretary of the Treasury. Rubios holds a PhD in Political Science from Brandeis University.
