He has held responsibilities in the field of nuclear security and intelligence. He is very interested in cyber security issues. A public law graduate from the universities of Burgundy, Paris-Panthéon-Assas and the Institute of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence, Jean-Baptiste’s academic work has focused on human resources, and more specifically on military civil service law. Jean-Baptiste holds the brevet d'enseignement supérieur de la Gendarmerie and the brevet technique d'études militaires. After joining the École de Guerre, Jean-Baptiste started contributing to Institut Montaigne’s work.
