HomeAuthorsChristian Forestier Christian Forestier Former Rector Christian Forestier holds an engineering degree from INSA Lyon, and obtained a PhD in Physics and Electronics. He started his career at the University of Saint-Etienne from 1966 to 1981, where he was director of the IUT, and was later appointed vice-president and eventually president of the university.From 1981 to 2000, he exercised important responsibilities in the French educational system: Rector of four “academies” – Reims, Dijon, Créteil and Versailles, director of high schools and middle schools, and General Director of higher education. Between 2000 and 2002, he managed the office of the Educational minister, before presiding the High council of school evaluation.He is currently a general inspector of the Education Nationale (since 1985), associate professor of the University of Marne-la-Vallée and presides the Board of Directors of the CEREQ (Center of research on qualifications).He is the author of numerous reports on secondary and tertiary technological teaching.
